About Yoanna Novakova

Yoanna is a reader, writer, traveller, concert goer, hiker, drinker, thinker and, of late... a blogger. She's currently doing a lot of travel writing (obviously), but fiction, fantasy and life-writing all have a representative in her portfolio. A reader of varied tastes, she's even been called "strange" for enjoying Stephen King and Terry Pratchett alike. In her pre-teen years, she used to be the kid who'd re-read her favourite books over and over again. Now she knows life is just too short for that. Always reading more than one book at a time, always writing more than one project at a time, she is yet to find her perfect pace. But she's working on it!

Survival is insufficient

When I first saw the phrase “literary science fiction” on one book website or another, it jarred me a bit, I admit. It didn’t put me off the book, but I did start it with a grain of salt. And … Continue reading

Are You Woman Enough to Survive…

I mentioned briefly earlier this week  that I’ve got some reviews piled up. Seems I’ll be going at them backwards because I just finished something that I can’t not comment on. Some of you might already have guessed from the title … Continue reading

Quite belayed but still solid in my mind, I finally have the chance to post this review. The Girl with All the Gifts came to my attention through a list of “to read before…” books, which I’m usually too late … Continue reading
